Show rate

Appointments that arrive at the dealership divided by appointments set in the same period.

Show rate is driven by confirmation and reminder discipline: a text at booking, a reminder the day before, a nudge the morning of. Late reschedules count as sets, not shows, or the number inflates.

In practice

A shown appointment is a customer who arrived; a late reschedule is a new set, not a show. Show rate rises with specificity (a time, a person, a vehicle or service) and with confirmation discipline (text at booking, reminder the day before, nudge the morning of). No-show recovery cadences bring some back and should be measured on their own.

Sales versus service

Service show rates are typically steadier because the customer has a problem to solve; sales show rates move with confirmation quality and how much time passed between set and appointment. Report them separately.

Also called: appointment show rate.
